• Interview someone you admire or would like to know more about—family members, friends, neighbors, teachers or other persons from your community.
• Write a biographical sketch about them. Turn it into a hand-made book and illustrate with drawings or copies of pictures.
Create a newspaper!
There are so many stories that happen in our own homes every day. Here is a fun opportunity to let everyone at home read about what is happening around the house.
Materials: sheets of white paper, tape, scissors, pencils, crayolas, markers.
Think about:
• What are the top headlines?
• Create categories such as sports, business, around the
neighborhood, comics, etc.
• Illustrate your stories.
• Create your own ads.
• Circulate it around the family to read.
